LUSA Community Chest Joins Hands at Meals on Wheels Race in Heidelberg
The annual Meals on Wheels race, hosted by N3 Toll Concession (N3TC), saw another successful year of cyclers, volunteers, and communities coming together for a great cause in Heidelberg. This year’s race was particularly special as it featured a route through the Suikerbos Nature Reserve, offering participants a mix of challenging terrain and stunning views.
LUSA Community Chest was once again a proud partner in this event, manning a vital water point along the race route. Their team, known for its strong community spirit and commitment to social upliftment, played an essential role in keeping the runners hydrated and motivated. As the athletes pushed through the challenging parts of the race, LUSA volunteers, dressed as Mexicans, were on hand to offer water, other refreshments, encouragement, and a smile, reminding participants of the sense of community that defines this event.
The Meals on Wheels race has become a key fixture in the Heidelberg calendar, not only for cyclers, but also for its social impact. The race raises funds to support Meals on Wheels’ mission of providing nutritious meals to the most vulnerable members of society, particularly the elderly and disadvantaged. N3TC has long been a supporter of this initiative, facilitating a platform for various organizations like LUSA Community Chest to contribute to a greater good.
LUSA Community Chest, with its long-standing commitment to improving lives, was proud to contribute to this meaningful event. Their involvement not only ensured that cyclers were well taken care of but also reinforced their dedication to community engagement and support. Whether it’s through charity work, event volunteering, or partnerships, LUSA continues to make a significant impact in the community and beyond.
As the Meals on Wheels race continues to grow each year, so does the importance of community involvement. Organizations like LUSA Community Chest embody the spirit of giving back, and their efforts at this year’s race will be remembered by all who participated. Together with N3TC, and the volunteers, LUSA helped make this event a success in more ways than one.
