Lusa Community Chest supported the 12th Meals on Wheels Cycle Race that took place on Sunday the 18th of September 2016. More than 798 cyclists braved the bitterly cold weather on the day to raise money for Meals on Wheels.
The organiser Mr Louis Harmse of Spectrum Sport said that the race took place in the spirit of goodwill and charity. Each year this race impacts the local community and makes a tangible difference!
N3TC was once again the main sponsor of the race and additionally contributed to the local community nursery school by sponsoring Lusa Community Chest to facilitate the Gr8Start Early Childhood Development Program for their teachers.
The event raised R85 000 in support of Meals on Wheels to provide warm and nutritious meals to those who would otherwise go hungry.
